Record-breaking Vision Screening Month – Thanks to Lions Clubs of Iowa and other partners, the Iowa KidSight program set a new record by screening 4,807 children across Iowa in September. This is an increase of 341 children from the previous record month of October 2007. Of those children screened, 220 were referred to an eye care professional for dilated examinations. Iowa KidSight is a state-wide vision screening program for infants and children. It is a joint effort between the Lions Clubs of Iowa and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
